Frequently Asked Questions

How is interest calculated on EPF?

Interest is calculated monthly on the opening balance, but it is credited to your account only once a year (annually) at the end of the financial year. The monthly interest earns compound interest in subsequent years.

Can I contribute more than 12%?

Yes, through VPF (Voluntary Provident Fund), you can contribute up to 100% of your Basic+DA. However, the employer is only obligated to match up to 12% (subject to the ₹15,000 wage ceiling limit).
