How to use UUID / GUID Generator

1

Select the UUID version you need (Version 1 or Version 4). Version 4 (Random) is the industry standard.

2

Enter the number of UUIDs you want to generate in a single batch (up to 100).

3

Click 'Generate' to instantly create your unique identifiers.

4

Use the 'Copy' icon next to any UUID to copy it to your clipboard for use in your database or code.

Why use our UUID / GUID Generator?

RFC 4122 Compliant

All generated UUIDs strictly adhere to the IETF RFC 4122 standard, ensuring 100% compatibility with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.

Cryptographically Secure (v4)

Version 4 UUIDs are generated using the Crypto API's cryptographically strong random number generator, making collisions mathematically impossible.

Batch Generation

Need multiple keys for seeding a database? Generate up to 100 unique UUIDs simultaneously in milliseconds.

100% Secure & Private

All processing happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to our servers, guaranteeing absolute privacy and security.

Lightning Fast

Because everything runs locally on your device, processing is instant. No waiting in queues or dealing with slow uploads.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between UUID v1 and v4?

UUID v1 is generated using the MAC address of the computer and the current timestamp. UUID v4 is completely random and relies on cryptographic pseudo-random number generators. V4 is recommended for almost all modern web applications.

Are UUIDs completely unique?

Yes. The number of possible v4 UUIDs is 2^122. To put that in perspective, you would need to generate 1 billion UUIDs every second for 85 years to have a 50% chance of a single collision.

Is there a difference between a UUID and a GUID?

No, they are practically the same. UUID stands for Universally Unique Identifier, while GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) is simply Microsoft's implementation of the exact same standard.
